A late-night shooting near Greensburg in St. Helena Parish left one person dead and four injured, the sheriff’s office said Friday.

Officers were dispatched around 11:35 p.m. Thursday to an area near the Last Stop Mini Mart, northwest of the town, said St. Helena Sheriff’s Office spokesman Joe Chaney.

Three men sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital, where one died of his injuries. Two women were injured from flying glass piercing their arms and legs.

Chaney said an arrest has been made, though the arrested person is not the primary suspect in the shooting. He could not offer details on any possible charges Friday morning.

Chaney added a primary suspect has been identified but has yet to be arrested. The investigation is ongoing.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the store was open at the time of the shooting. There was no answer Friday at a telephone number provided for the store.
