Ferdinand Street in St. Francisville was listed as No. 96 in a list of America's Most Charming Main Streets.

The area includes picturesque street features including antique shops, galleries and historic homes. Its nearby plantation tours and state parks contribute to its quaint southern Louisiana charm, a news release said.

Other Louisiana locations making the top 100 are No. 70 E Bridge Street, Breaux Bridge and No. 95 Main Street, Natchitoches.

The release said America's main streets are more than just shopping destinations: they are vibrant hubs of community and tradition, with local butchers and bakers creating a fabric of personal connections and local economies.

However, as the retail landscape continually evolves with the influx of more malls and online shopping, these cherished mainstays continue to face competition that could dictate their survival, the release said.

In an effort to showcase the allure of America's main streets, Mixbook conducted a poll of 3,000 travelers to determine the most charming main ones in the country. The top 100 can be found at .
