Nurse Practitioner Kaitlyn Methvien has joined the team of providers at North Oaks Primary Care in Livingston.

From preventive screenings and annual checkups to treating illnesses and managing chronic health conditions, Methvien specializes in comprehensive health care for families, a news release said.

鈥淛oining the team of providers at North Oaks Primary Care in Livingston enables me to give back to the community that has invested so much in me throughout my life,鈥 shares Methvien. 鈥淚 love promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging individuals to incorporate preventive screenings and healthy habits into their everyday life.

鈥淚 believe in focusing on the entire aspect of each patient鈥檚 well-being,鈥 Methvien continues. 鈥淯sing active listening to understand my patients鈥 concerns, I deliver evidence-based interventions that reflect their input, and I involve other medical specialists as needed. Transparent communication is key.鈥

Methvien鈥檚 passion for health care and service to others was fueled when she was a teenager and served as a junior volunteer at North Oaks Medical Center and North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital. After graduating from Holden High School, she went on to earn bachelor's and master鈥檚 degrees in nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. Methvien is certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Methvien worked for seven years as a registered nurse in various departments at North Oaks Medical Center, including the telemetry and obstetrical/gynecology units.

North Oaks Primary Care Clinic in Livingston is on the second floor of North Oaks 鈥 Livingston Parish Medical Complex at 17199 Spring Ranch Road, Suite 200 in Livingston. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
