The annual Summer Resident Camp is an important part of the outdoor pillar of Girl Scouting, said Rebecca Pennington, CEO of Girl Scouts Louisiana East. 鈥淩esident camp is a key experience of being a Girl Scout that hearkens back to the early days of Girl Scouting in not just southeast Louisiana but across the nation. We are looking forward to welcoming Girl Scouts to Camp Marydale this summer and also having our older girls take the adventure of a lifetime to either Tennessee or Kentucky.鈥
Any girl is welcome to become a Girl Scout to attend camp. Beginning April 1, those looking to join Girl Scouts can register for an Extended Year membership at the cost of $35 through September 2025. This membership will allow any girl to attend camp for two summers. Register at .
Registration for Resident Camp is being accepted online. A nonrefundable deposit of $50 is required, and payment is due in full three weeks before the start of the selected session(s).
For a list of dates, visit . The cost to attend camp starts at $295 per session and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Financial assistance is available and can be applied for by filling out the Girl Scout Camp Financial Assistance Request. The deadline to apply for financial assistance is May 15.
Girl Scouts Louisiana East also is looking for camp counselors to be a part of the Resident Camp team. Prospective staff can fill out a Summer Camp Counselor Form, and a staff member will contact the applicant.
