Multiple wrecks during winter weather has stranded drivers and shut down parts of Interstate 10 across Louisiana, including a portion between Ïã¸ÛÁùºÍ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ and Lafayette, Louisiana State Police said Monday night.

All lanes of I-10 is closed from La. 415 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in St. Martin Parish due to winter weather.Ìý

DOTD is urging motorists to use extreme caution while driving and to avoid driving whenever possible.Ìý

Louisiana State Police posted to Facebook that it is looking into multiple crashes on I-10. According to the post, some of the crashes have blocked lanes, including one on I-210.

The I-210 bridge near Lake Charles has been closed and troopers are working to help those stranded on the bridge. Ice is slowing down the efforts of police, according to the post.Ìý

People have posted on social media that they have been stuck on the I-10 and I-210 bridge for hours due to the winter conditions.Ìý

Louisiana State Police first posted about trying to get drivers off the bridge at 6:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service in New Orleans and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÍ¿ª½±ÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ warned drivers to stay off the roads from Monday night to late Tuesday morning in southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana due to black ice on roadways.
